The U16 Chicago Inter Girl's soccer team had a fantastic end to a remarkable season. They started their season by winning a tournament and ended their season by winning a tournament.

The season started in July for the girls with a College Prospects tournament hosted by Windy City Pride in Rockford. The girls won all 3 of their games and the Championship Game over the host team, Windy City Pride, 3-1.

The girls then went to visit St. Ambrose University and got a chance to play St. Ambrose's JV team and their Varsity team. They beat the JV team 5-0 but lost to their Varsity team 6-4. St. Ambrose went on to have a great season themselves by winning the Midwest Collegiate Conference and compiling a 18-2-1 season record. The girls then went on to start their play in Illinois Women's Soccer League's highest level, the Champions Division. They won their first two games and then had to play Nationally ranked NSA (currently ranked 4th in the country). After a defensive battle NSA scored late in the first half and ended up winning the game 2-0. Chicago Inter got back on their winning ways by going down to St. Louis and beating two nationally  ranked teams from the St. Louis area in the Gallagher Friendlies.

After winning their next 3 IWSL games, the girls traveled to Libertyville to play in the Octoberfest Soccer Tournament. The girls played up a year in the U17 bracket and won all 4 of their games, including an overtime Championship game against Darien Dynamo.

They went on to win their next 3 IWSL games and then traveled down to Collinsville to play in the Metro United College Showcase. Once again the girls played the best teams in the Midwest and came away winning their bracket. The following weekend, most of the girls traveled down to Evansville, Indiana and played in the Veterans Invitational Tournament. The girls played in the  U17 bracket and won all four of their games including a 4-2 victory in the Championship game against the host team,  Evansville Soccer Club.

Congratulations girls on a fantastic season. Final overall record for the year: 16-2-1.

"I'm very proud of these girls," said Coach Rick Lakie. "Sena has worked very hard to get these girls to the level where they can compete with anyone on the field. We look for great things from these girls in the future."
